May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul... the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
~Mother Teresa

Where is love?
“Your task is not to seek for love,
but merely to seek and find
all the barriers within yourself
that you have built against it.”

The Odd Thing About Life
The odd thing about the often long and lonely path of life, Jill, is that when you get to the end of it and look back, you'll find that it was neither of these.

Reality TV - appreciating others?
Recently I saw an ad for a new reality show called Car Warriors, and something hit me. Reality TV can be somewhat exploitative, but perhaps there’s also a positive societal shift and lessons involved too. When you think about some of them such as Car Warriors, Auction Hunters, Pawn Stars, Gold Rush, etc, I also see people being featured doing what they do best, and others of us can appreciate their skill and knowledge. Perhaps this is an example of us as a society valuing the talent of others. Something our television is giving us the opportunity to do.

What's Your Inner Truth?
Before speaking, consult your inner-truth barometer, and resist the temptation to tell people only what they want to hear. - Wayne Dyer

Diversity

I believe that diversity is a part of the natural order of things – as natural as the trillion shapes and shades of the flowers of spring or the leaves of autumn.
I believe that diversity brings new solutions to an ever-changing environment, and that sameness is not only uninteresting but limiting.
To deny diversity is to deny life – with all its richness and and manifold opportunities. Thus I affirm my citizenship in a world of diversity, and with it the responsibility to…
Be tolerant.
Live and let live.
Understand that those who cause no harm should not be feared, ridiculed, or harmed – even if they are different.
Look for the best in others.
Be just in my dealings with poor and rich, weak and strong, and whenever possible to defend the young, the old, the frail, the defenseless.
Be kind, remembering how fragile the human spirit is.
Live the examined life, subjecting my motives and actions to the scrutiny of mind and heart so to rise above prejudice and hatred.

Goals?
Remember to balance action with relaxation. Above all else, don't put yourself down, you are perfect and lovable just as you are. Celebrate anything that is an accomplishment for you. Visualize your goals, become silent, ask. Will power serves to push through things.... but letting things unfold naturally according to your greater vision and desires, is much more powerful - and easier!!

What is Gratitude?
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and
more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a
stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace
...for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." ..

Longevity per George Burns
"If you ask what is the single most important key to longevity, I would have to say it is avoiding worry, stress and tension. And if you didn't ask me, I'd still have to say it.” George F. Burns (via MaryLee)

The Creativity of Words
Words are small shapes in the gorgeous chaos of the world. But they are shapes, they bring the world into focus, they corral ideas, they hone thoughts, they paint watercolor perceptions. ~Diane Ackerman (thank you to Nancy for posting this one)

The Spiritual Purpose Behind Democracy?
Founding a country on democratic principles wasn't just a political advancement, but a spiritual one as well. The idea of equality of power based on the average individual's conscience and intelligence -- that was radical when it happened and it's radical now. Something to ponder, and to protect. ~Marianne Williamson
