Worthiness

Contrary to popular thinking, being worthy isn’t something you earn, it’s something you recognize. And once you do, you won’t be able to think, speak or behave in any other way than as if what you most wanted was meant to be. ~Mike Dooley

The opposite of resistance

Should you want to contain something, you must deliberately let it expand. Should you want to take something away, you must deliberately grant it access. Should you want to eliminate something, you must deliberately allow it to flourish. - Living the Wisdom of the Tao (thank you Karen for this one)

Give your heart, but not into anyone's keeping

"but let there be spaces in your togetherness,
and let the winds of the heavens dance between you

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf

Sing and dance together and be joyous,
But let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone
Though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and cypress grow not in each other’s shadow."

~Kahlil Gibran

Delicate vs. Strong

A tree that is indoors, always catered, taken care of, etc... is delicate. Fragile. Its wood is tender and weak. Now a tree that stands in storms, outside, through harsh weather, now that tree is strong. Firm. It's wood is very hard and durable.

She let go.

Without a thought or a word, she let go.
She let go of the fear.
She let go of the judgments.
She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.
She let go of the committee of indecision within her.
She let go of all the 'right' reasons.
Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn't ask anyone for advice.
She didn't read a book on how to let go.
She didn't search the scriptures.
She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.
She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.
She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.
She didn't promise to let go.
She didn't journal about it.
She didn't write the projected date in her Day-Timer.
She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.
She didn't check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.
She just let go.

She didn't analyze whether she should let go.
She didn't call her friends to discuss the matter.
She didn't do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.
She didn't call the prayer line.
She didn't utter one word.
She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.
There was no applause or congratulations.
No one thanked her or praised her.
No one noticed a thing.
Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.
There was no effort.
There was no struggle.
It wasn't good and it wasn't bad.
It was what it was, and it is just that.
In the space of letting go, she let it all be.
A small smile came over her face.
A light breeze blew through her.
And the sun and the moon shone on her.

The Happiness Quotient By Rabbi Yonason Goldson

This is from the article entitled The Happiness Quotient. Something to keep in mind as we are challenged to question our limitations and focus on the essential. -Nancy (thanks Nancy!)

DEBUNKING THE MYTH OF SATISFACTION The sages of the Talmud address the question of happiness with pithy insightfulness: Who is wealthy? The one who is happy with his portion. In contrast to the researchers who concluded that wealth produces happiness, the sages observe that happiness is the source of true wealth. One need not look far to discover that many wealthy people endure miserable lives, where many who barely scrape by enjoy lives of joy and fulfillment.
Furthermore, the sages consider a person wealthy because he is happy with his portion — not because he is satisfied. Satisfaction results from the attainment of a goal and is usually fleeting; often, we experience sharp pangs of melancholy after the initial rush that accompanies success. Conversely, happiness results from striving toward a goal that is both attainable and worthwhile. It is this struggle that makes us truly happy, and a life spent striving for goals of intrinsic value is a life of immeasurable happiness.
Indulging every whim and impulse may prove pleasurable, but such pleasure-seeking will merely distract one from the lack of purpose that would otherwise make life intolerable. One who anesthetizes himself with chemical substances and sensory stimulation may deaden his receptors to the paralyzing pain of futility, but he knows nothing of real happiness.

Standard of Success

There is no desire that anyone holds for any other reason than that they believe they will feel better in the achievement of it. Whether it is a material object, a condition, or a circumstance - at the heart of every desire is the desire to feel good. And so, the standard of success in lie is not the things or the money - the standard of success is absolutely the amount of joy you feel.

Please Yourself

Often you are pulled this way and that in an attempt to please another, only to discover that no matter how hard you try, you cannot consistently move in any pleasing direction; and so, you not only do not please them, but you also do not please yourself. And because you are being pulled in so many different directions, your path to where you want to be usually gets lost in the process. - Abraham-Hicks

Guy Finley - Fearless Living

When we feel fear, it is our mind instantly projecting an event's meaning onto our past or future to produce fear. This fear produces the feeling, and then offers and projects the image of the way out of the situation. This is not a friend talking! What the mind is feeling is not the event, but what we brought with us into this moment, that now needs to be seen as a limitation. Fear is negative imagination. The power over it belongs to ME, not the event! This darkness that is talking to us is not able to show us the light. It searches only for new powers, skills, protections, and ways around the event.
THE FEEL IS REAL, THE WHY IS A LIE.
Stop, Drop, & Endure.
Stop: The moment you feel fear, come to a complete stop.
Drop: Do not identify, drop associated thoughts and feelings.
Endure: This moment, and the external event, is part of the whole that is you.

To increase your secure feelings about money, try these methods:

1. Write your worries or concerns and put them in a special box (I call it a God Box) as a physical demonstration of "letting go and letting God" help you with the issues.
2. Write a letter to God, spelling out all of your feelings and what you need help with. Put this letter face-up on your altar or the location where you most-often pray. I’ve had miraculous results over the years with this method.
3. Write any fears on a piece of paper and then put that paper in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator. When you "freeze the fears," the problem is rapidly resolved.
4. Keep asking yourself: "What is the blessing within this situation?" There’s always a silver lining to every seeming problem.
5. Use my favorite Louise Hay affirmation: "Out of this situation, only good will come!" The more that you affirm this, the more peaceful you will feel. And a peaceful mind attracts and creates wonderful solutions.

Emotional Healing

Emotional healing does not mean dwelling upon the wound;
it means looking at the world through unwounded eyes.

We have not come here to take prisoners.

We have not come here to take prisoners,
But to surrender ever more deeply
To freedom and joy.
We have not come into this exquisite world
To hold ourselves hostage from love.
Run my dear,
From anything
That may not strengthen
Your precious budding wings.
Run like hell my dear,
From anyone likely
To put a sharp knife
Into the sacred, tender vision
Of your beautiful heart
We have a duty to befriend
Those aspects of obedience
That stand outside of our house
And shout to our reason
"O please, O please,
Come out and play."
For we have not come here to take prisoners
Or to confine our wondrous spirits,
But to experience ever and ever more deeply
Our divine courage, freedom, and Light!

Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked hisgrandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

CURE (for mice) for Alzheimer’s disease

From Dr. William’s latest "Alternatives" newsletter, he talks about the CURE (for mice) for Alzheimer’s disease discovered by Dr. Kim Green at the University of California. He has been shocked that it has not been more publicized. Perhaps you can pass this on to people you know who could benefit. Improvements can occur within 5 days to a year it seems. For full details please get a copy of his newsletter www.drdavidwilliams.com Here's the basics:

Recommended: 250 mg. of Vitamin B3 (nicacinamide/nicotinamide) every 1 ½ hours for 12 doses total per day. Freeda Vitamins has this dosage available- preservative-free. www.freedavitamins.com or 800-777-3737.

It supposedly helps with arthritis as well.
Dr. Williams says that a toxic dose in humans would be somewhere around 375,000 mg a day…so this treatment is not even close to being toxic.

Thanks to Jan Harkey for passing this on.
